National Folk Art Museum of Yerevan was founded in 1978 on the base of collections of the House of Folk Art. Works of amazing beauty created by non-professional masters, who find artistic creativity as a way of self-expression, are displayed in the museum. Today the collection of the museum consists of more than 12000 items, 2000 of which are exhibited. There are relief carvings of wood, jewelry and lace, rugs and carpets, paintings by amateur artists. If agreed beforehand, visits to folk jewelry and woodcarving workshops can be arranged by the staff of the museum.
In addition to the permanent exposition, the museum hosts numerous exhibitions of national craftsmen all year round.
