Historical and Ethnographic Museum Ejmiatsin

Today, the Etchmiadzin Historical and Ethnographic Museum preserves about 15,000 exhibits. The exhibition of the museum starts from the archeological section, where the life of natives of the Ararat valley are presented. The ethnographic collection includes exhibits from the different regions of Armenia, Artsakh, Western Armenia: carpets, rugs, household items, antique books, photos, furniture, numismatic collection, etc. There is also a model of a settlement of ancient people living near Echmiadzin. The museum also exhibits an unique printing machine, which Queen Victoria presented to the Catholicos Mkrtich I. The museum often hosts thematic exhibitions and courses for schoolchildren.
